Description

Sumting Sumting Software is a minimum viable company consisting of founder Freddie Honohan and his sister Melodie. The company was founded to publish Muchos Mineros, a unique 3D Jump & Run style Arcade-Action-Adventure indie game inspired by the Chilean mining miracle when thirty-three miners gripped the world while they were trapped underground for sixty-nine days and subsequently rescued from the San José mine. Based in Ireland, Freddie slowly developed the game over 5 years between Lahinch in West Clare and the city of Dublin.

History

While completing a Computer Graphics course in 2010, Freddie's Engineering class was tasked with creating a 3D computer game. The timing coincided directly with the mining incident and so the concept was born! Screenshots of that extremely basic undergraduate project are included below along with early concept art & some promotional images of the final game as it stands today.

Following on from the completion of a Msc. Computer Science course (IET) (taken specifically to build on the necessary skillset); The creation of a commercial mobile game based on the same silly concept was undertaken. In the evenings and weekends, between various jobs and setbacks the game was eventually completed to a satisfactory level to be released on Android & iOS. Built specifically for touch controlled devices, the game aims to bring the glory days of whacky 3D platformers back to modern mobile devices with it's unique control system.
